Long Island Select Healthcare Inc. (LISH) is a comprehensive network of community health centers. We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 8 locations across Suffolk County, New York. We are a multi-specialty healthcare provider caring for our community through Primary and Specialty Medical Care, Dental, Behavioral Health, Audiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology. We currently provide care to over 7,000 patients and have an annual operating revenue of $22m.

About the Role:
The Behavioral Health Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of dental practices by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and coordinating communication between patients and behavioral health staff. This position is essential for maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction and ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently. The Behavioral Health Coordinator will oversee the management of patient records, insurance verification, and billing processes, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. By fostering a welcoming environment, the Behavioral Health Coordinator contributes to a positive patient experience and supports the overall mission of the Health Center. Ultimately, this role is pivotal in enhancing the operational efficiency of the Behavioral Health team and improving patient care outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a behavioral health or healthcare administrative role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or a related field.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment confirmations to optimize the practice's workflow.
- Coordinate communication between patients, behavioral health staff, and insurance companies to facilitate smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with billing and insurance verification processes to ensure timely payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues as they arise.
