Estimator - Plumbing Contractor (Astoria, NY) GBL Mechanical Inc.

GBL Mechanical Inc. is a plumbing and sprinkler contractor specializing in residential and commercial projects throughout New York City and Connecticut for over 20 years. We’re now expanding our team and looking to recruit another Estimator in our Astoria office.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in plumbing estimating. With the ability to work independently and as part of a team, you be able to cooperate & communicate with others to succeed, especially in our larger projects.

Requirements :

• Legally allowed to work in the United States of America.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in the plumbing industry.
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, drawings, and plumbing codes..
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating software (Ex, Bluebeam Revu, Slack).
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines as required.

Preferences :

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills within the team.
• Strong understanding of NYC and CT specific plumbing codes.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents for upcoming projects.
• Perform accurate take-offs and prepare cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Prepare proposals and assist in submitting bids on time.
• Coordinate with project managers and office staff to ensure smooth project handoff.
• Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and revisions.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM in our Astoria Office
