Automotive Electrical Technician

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

Electrical Techs will work on up-fitting a wide range of truck and utility equipment, spanning from Vans to Class 8/9 Trucks. They should have experience in assembling and installing equipment and products in accordance with standard operating procedures.

• Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble/install equipment and products.
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Perform all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
• Confer with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Always work in a safe manner.
• Be self-starting with basic vehicle electrical knowledge.
• Learn/follow established company electrical guidelines.
• Be proficient at troubleshooting simple electrical installations.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge and experience of 12-volt electrical diagnostics and wiring.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Attention to detail with the ability to follow verbal directions and written instructions.
• A team-player with a good work ethic (courteous, flexible punctual and professional).
• A level-headed, detail-oriented and safety contentious individual.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year or less of work-related experience or education.
• Knowledge and experience of installing electrical equipment.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL ENVIRONMENT:

• Majority of the time will be spent sitting, standing, and walking on hard surfaces, for prolonged periods of time.
• Substantial amount of pushing, pulling, and lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
• Mechanical, installation, and hand-eye coordination skills.
• This job is predominantly indoors in a shop/manufacturing setting and will occur in the production area. Although the position is indoors there will be varying temperatures between different areas.
• Will encounter a substantial amount of varying background noise.
