- Travel ER RN in a hospital environment Responsibilities
- Deliver emergency nursing care in the ER, including triage, rapid assessment, monitoring, and stabilization of acutely ill or injured patients
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and manage access devices per physician orders; respond to code situations following established protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, specialty teams, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care and ensure timely interventions
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (Epic) and maintain current charting
- Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and safety initiatives; participate in quality and performance improvement activities Requirements
- Active NY RN license or proven application with applied date (license processing may take 6-8 weeks)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC (equivalency), TNCC (TNCC must be active or proof of class prior to start), NIHSS required prior to starting
- ER nursing experience: minimum 1 year of ER specialty experience; charge experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable)
- Availability to work a night shift schedule and meet unit/patient care needs; every other weekend orientation/coverage as required Notes
- A 16-week contract with travel assignment details; no block scheduling; a minimum level of travel experience preferred
- NY license status and timely submission are essential due to licensing timeframes
