Job Description

Bar Ambra is seeking skilled, creative bartenders to join our pre-opening team. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a cocktail program and bar culture from the ground up at a brand-new Union Square destination inside a major hotel property.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages with consistency and precision
• Maintain deep knowledge of the cocktail menu, spirits, and techniques; contribute ideas during menu development
• Engage guests with warm, confident hospitality and create a memorable bar experience
• Manage bar setup, breakdown, inventory, and cleanliness to high standards
• Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service and all health/safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with servers, barbacks, and management to keep service running smoothly
• Participate in pre-opening training, tastings, and menu rollout

Qualifications

• Proven bartending experience required; upscale bar, hotel, or high-volume cocktail experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, spirits, and bar techniques
• Speed, precision, and composure during high-volume service
• Excellent communication and guest-service skills
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• TIPS or other responsible service certification a plus
• A collaborative, can-do attitude — especially important for an opening team
