Job Title: Content Strategist – NYC.gov Redesign (Analyst 3)
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract ( W-2 Only, not available for 1099, C2C or C2H, and no sponsorship)
Contract Length: July 1, 2026 – June 29, 2027
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 35 hours/week
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Job Overview
Paramint LLC is seeking an experienced Content Strategist to support the NYC Digital Service team in the redesign and modernization of NYC.gov. This role will help create guided digital experiences that make New York City government services easier to understand and navigate for millions of New Yorkers.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, researcher, and information architect with experience translating complex government, legal, or policy-related information into clear, plain-language content for the public. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across NYC agencies and the ability to deliver high-quality content artifacts under strict deadlines.
The selected consultant will report to the Lead Digital Strategist and contribute to a large-scale initiative focused on improving digital access to City services and information.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Development
- Create content requirements, user flows, and outlines for guided experiences across NYC.gov
- Write compelling plain-language web copy in compliance with the NYC web content style guide
- Translate complex government processes, policies, and legal concepts into user-friendly digital content
- Develop and maintain high-quality content artifacts for public-facing web experiences
Research & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Interview subject matter experts across NYC government agencies to gather information and clarify requirements
- Conduct research into city laws, policies, services, and operational processes
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, strategists, designers, and content teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Navigate complex review and approval workflows involving policy, legal, and executive stakeholders
Content Auditing & Analytics
- Create and audit inventories of existing website content, features, and functionality
- Analyze user behavior and web traffic data using Google Analytics
- Identify content gaps, usability issues, and opportunities for improved user engagement
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to content deliverables and user experience outcomes
Quality Assurance & Project Coordination
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide feedback on content deliverables across multiple workstreams
- Ensure content consistency, accessibility, readability, and adherence to style guidelines
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting strict project deadlines
Required Qualifications (Mandatory)
Candidates who do not meet the mandatory qualifications will not be considered.
- At least 8 years of full-time experience as a: Content Strategist / Editorial Strategist / Information Architect (Or similar role)
- Strong copywriting and editorial skills with a portfolio of previous work
- Experience writing content aligned with a formal style guide
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Experience organizing meetings and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong project management and self-management abilities
- Ability to prioritize work and deliver under tight deadlines
- Basic Google Analytics experience, including running reports to inform content audits and decision-making
- Experience using user research and behavioral insights to inform content strategy decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, Digital Media, or a related field
- Experience working in: Government / Higher education / Non-profit organizations
- Experience writing in plain language and at a sub-7th-grade reading level
- Experience working with modern content management systems (CMS)
- Experience navigating complex approval and stakeholder review processes
- Familiarity with New York City government services and how New Yorkers interact with city agencies
Special Requirements
- Ability to work onsite in Brooklyn, NY three days per week
- Strong communication and collaboration skills required
- Portfolio or writing samples may be requested during the interview process
