Position: Medical Assistant I

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a contract assignment in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will support physicians and clinical staff by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
• Medical Assistant certification from an approved school OR equivalent experience
• BLS Certification required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting

Key Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, medical history, medication history, and allergy information
• Perform EKGs, lab testing, PFTs, and audiometry as ordered
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and medical equipment
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
• Update insurance and patient demographic information
• Handle patient referrals and documentation accurately
• Answer phones and communicate professionally with patients and staff
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and infection control standards
• Assist physicians with patient care and discharge instructions
• Maintain supply inventory and perform daily equipment checks
