Job Title: Maintenance Worker

Job Description:

This role is expected to work independently to complete interior and exterior repairs and maintenance to all University buildings.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Perform general repairs and maintenance to all Campus buildings

· Respond to work orders assigned by work order system and by verbal communication

· Assist other handy people and tradespeople with work related tasks when requested

· Painting as needed

· Assist in office moves as needed

· Perform other related duties as may be assigned within the Facilities Department’s scope of work

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Familiarity with hand and power tools

· Must be willing to occasionally work evenings and weekends in emergency situations and for various special events

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Should be organized and able to handle multiple tasks

· Must have a valid NYS driver license

Qualifications:

· Ability to safely use common power tools

· Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance

Education:

· High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

· Must have two (2) years of general maintenance experience

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift to 80 pounds and over routinely

· Prolonged periods of physical labor

Salary:

This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $17.00.

Hours Expectation:

Full-time, 40 hours per week
