Associate General Counsel

GlossGenius is seeking a Head of Legal to lead and scale our legal function as we expand our AI-native platform and business areas. This high-ownership, high-visibility role will partner directly with leadership to enable business growth through thoughtful risk management and judgment, with broad scope across commercial, corporate, employment, privacy, and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities will include:

• Own the full legal function, covering commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment, data privacy, and regulatory compliance
• Serve as the primary legal partner to the CEO, CBO, and executive team, proactively advising on strategic initiatives, partnerships, intellectual property, trademark protection, and day-to-day business decisions
• Draft, negotiate, and close a wide range of agreements including enterprise contracts, vendor deals, partnership agreements, and financing-related documents
• Build scalable legal infrastructure: contract templates, playbooks, approval workflows, and internal policies to support business speed and confidence
• Advise on employment and people matters as the company and workforce complexity grow
• Manage outside counsel strategically to ensure efficient spend and sharp outcomes
• Shape our approach to legal and regulatory considerations surrounding AI products and data
• Lead the transformation of legal operations by identifying opportunities for AI systems and tools to eliminate low-leverage work, accelerate contract review and drafting, and increase efficiency at scale

You’re a great fit if you:

• Have a JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership (NY preferred)
• Bring 10+ years of legal experience, including time at a top-tier law firm and in-house at a high-growth tech company
• Possess broad generalist experience across commercial, corporate, employment, privacy, and regulatory matters
• Demonstrate strong commercial instincts and provide clear, decisive guidance to the business
• Have deep familiarity with the evolving legal landscape around AI, including IP, data licensing, model usage, and regulatory considerations
• Are already using AI tools across your workflow and can leverage them to transform legal team operations
• Exhibit a low ego, high ownership mentality and are comfortable being hands-on as the most senior legal voice

Total Compensation

The base salary for this role is between $225,000 and $285,000 plus equity and benefits. The compensation package is dependent on skills, experience, and education.
