Job DescriptionThe Senior Financial Analyst, Local Ad Sales Finance is responsible for supporting advertising sales analysis and reporting of approximately $2B Gross Ad Sales Revenue across our 12 NBC Owned Stations, 31 Telemundo Owned Stations and 4 Regional Sports Networks. Reporting to the Director of Ad Sales Finance, you will partner with sales and finance leadership throughout the country and provide critical revenue analysis that has an impact on key business decisions for NBCU Local. This role provides a unique opportunity to assist in process development and reporting improvements across the Local Ad Sales Business.
Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly revenue recognition processes, including Wide Orbit revenue recognition by property, maintenance of Wide Orbit revenue automation mapping, and reviewing monthly revenue reconciliation.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and provide controllership with the necessary support for audit reviews and financial reporting accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation and consolidation of the monthly pacing file, providing pacing variance analysis and commentary by station in collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents of Finance and Vice Presidents of Sales.
- Support revenue forecasting process (budget, long range plans, estimates, pacing), including analyzing submissions from the stations.
- Analyze advertiser category pacing trends and revenue performance to provide insights into market demand and advertiser behavior.
- Conduct programming revenue analysis to support leadership decision-making around content investments and monetization strategies.
- Assist Ad Sales Finance Revenue team with ad-hoc reporting, analysis and accounting responsibilities as required.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of all Sales and Finance systems used for reporting (SAP, BPC, Wide Orbit, Operative, Salesforce, Business Intelligence, Domo, etc.)
- Four-year degree (B.A., B.S.) at an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of finance experience
- Solid analytical skills, capable of delivering detailed, accurate information in a fast-paced environment
- High level of responsibility with a strong desire to not only answer “what” but wants to dig deeper to understand the “why” and “how”
- Prior experience in a finance role supporting an ad sales function within a media or entertainment company highly desired
- Ability to build financial models (i.e.: advanced excel skills) and presentations for senior leadership
- Thorough knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with accuracy
- Team player with the ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate to achieve goals
Hybrid : This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
