Maintenance Mechanic
Abacus is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic in Memphis, TN.
Maintenance mechanic is responsible for ensuring that machinery and equipment operate efficiently and safely, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose mechanical problems and repair or replace faulty parts quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
Documentation: Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities, documenting any issues and solutions implemented.
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; vocational training or an Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance is preferred.
Experience: Proven work experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role is often necessary, with 2+ years being common in many job postings.
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics, and familiarity with hand and power tools.
