Information Technology Specialist 1 (End User Services)
The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Provide remote technical support via the Service Desk for NYSIF staff and external customers.• Address service requests and provide assistance to end users as it relates to NYSIF personal computing, both hardware and software.• Image computers.• Provide new employee onboarding support.• Configure mobile devices.• Support all ITS Teams with hardware deployments, installations and system maintenance. • Create and maintain user and instructional documentation. • Assist with the ITS hardware asset hardware inventory, including the maintenance of hardware inventory system data, participation in the annual Physical Inventory and hardware disposals.• Ability to engage in good customer service skills when working with end users.• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: • One year of permanent, competitive class service as an Information Technology Specialist 1; or, one year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but aren’t limited to: Program Aide, Office Assistant 3, Office Assistant 3 Calculations; OR• 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR • One year of experience in information technology.Please be advised that the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) does not offer sponsorship for employment visas to employees or potential employees.
