Assistant Baker - Darling Doughnuts - Part-time

Darling Doughnuts, on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, is seeking a part-time baking assistant to join our kitchen team. Please read through to the end of this listing if interested and qualified.

Shifts start at 6am/7am, 3-4 days a week, including weekends.

As our baking assistant, your responsibilities include:

• Batching ingredients
• Making glazes and dough
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Cleaning up after service (we all do it!)
• Rolling and cutting dough
• Frying doughnuts
• Decorating doughnuts by utilizing the culinary techniques you'll learn
• Maintaining proper inventory levels of supplies, ingredients, etc.
• Knowledge of food-safety and best practices to maintain it

The ideal candidate has kitchen/bakery experience or is a Culinary Student , but we will train the right person. This position runs May through the end of October. After that, shifts will be 1-2 days a week.

As well, the ideal candidate is a good communicator, pleasant and kind to those around them, and can excel in our fast-paced kitchen environment. The assistant baker works closely with our lead baker to ensure our doughnuts not only look exquisite every day and consistently taste great, but are also produced in a clean, safe and efficient kitchen.

Compensation begins at $16/hr + tips.
