Operations Specialist
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Regular full-time.

Position Purpose: Performs operational tasks related to admissions, providing excellent customer service to office visitors, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
» Visitor Services: Greets and welcomes visitors to Union as they enter and exit the office as part of a rotating reception coverage, including some weekend staffing. Answers and directs incoming calls to the appropriate party (e.g. financial aid, admissions deans).
» Administrative: Performs various clerical work including data entry of inquiry cards, printing and mailing postcards and posters in support of high school visits, scanning and linking documents in Slate, processing applications and supporting documents, recalculating high school GPAs and reviewing and resolving duplicate records in Slate. Answers emails from prospective students, parents and school counselors.
» Team Support: Supports admissions deans with program responsibilities as assigned. Supports campus events (open houses, yield programs, etc.) Contributes ideas, input, and support to Union Admissions initiatives, decisions, communications, and other activities with operations implications. Seeks out, applies, and shares expertise of admissions trends and innovations.
Qualifications required
»High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years administrative adjunct and/or customer service practice and/or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice. Associates degree preferred.
» practice with customer relations management (CRM) system (e.g. Slate.) preferred.
» capability to exercise exceptional judgment, ensure strict confidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations.
»Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, and customer service expertise.
»Strong computer expertise (proficiency in software programs Google Apps, Word, Excel.)
» capability to think critically, adjust accordingly and escalate when appropriate.
»Attention to detail and capability to multitask and adapt to new technologies.
»Initiative and capability to work independently under general supervision in a flexible work environment.
»The capability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.
The expected rate for this job offer is $17.00-17.50. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
