Director of General and MFM/OBGYN

The Women’s Health practice is divided into two on-site divisions: OBGYN/MFM and REI. With both Maternal Fetal Medicine and Reproductive Endocrinology services available on site, patients benefit from streamlined prenatal diagnostics, coordinated specialty consultations, and seamless continuity of care.
The OBGYN division includes a full obstetrics and gynecology unit with prenatal and gynecologic ultrasound services. All deliveries are performed at Staten Island University Hospital. The department is experiencing continued growth, with a vision to expand its provider team and deliver care to approximately 900 to 1,000 obstetrical patients annually.
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of General OBGYN to provide clinical and strategic leadership within the OBGYN division. This role focuses heavily on Obstetrics and oversees the quality, direction, and growth of the department.
The Director will guide clinical excellence, support provider development, enhance workflows, and serve as a liaison between the organization and Staten Island University Hospital. This position blends hands-on clinical leadership with operational oversight and community engagement, ensuring exceptional patient care while supporting continued departmental expansion.

Employment Type: Full Time, On-Site
Call: Equitably shared rotation with one post-call day
Salary: $450,000 – $550,000
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction for the General OBGYN department to ensure the highest standards of patient care
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to establish and refine clinical protocols and evidence-based practices
- Streamline workflows, review patient charts, and identify opportunities for quality improvement
- Provide guidance and education to providers regarding cultural awareness and community-specific considerations, including religious observance
- Oversee the daily clinical delivery of General OBGYN services across all levels of care
- Mentor and supervise OBGYN physicians, nurses, and support staff
- Develop professional and clinical advancement initiatives including monthly Lunch and Learns and journal clubs
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that supports growth, engagement, and excellence
- Serve as Hospital Liaison, maintaining a strong and positive partnership
- Represent the General OBGYN department in community outreach and educational initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, referring physicians, and key stakeholders
- Participate in public health initiatives that promote women’s health and wellness
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree
- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care that meets the unique needs of patients and their families
- Strong teamwork ethic with a positive and adaptable approach
- Ability to lead strategically while remaining clinically engaged
