Job Summary

Altice USA is seeking a Director of Network Engineering to lead a team of high-performing network engineers and operators to maintain and improve our complex, converged core network. The candidate will play a key role in driving projects related to the design, integration, standardization, and hardware refresh and is responsible for the technical success of these projects. The candidate must be forward thinking and have a vision for the future of the network and team. Works closely with VP of IP Operations to provide engineering development and support for new services (voice, data) and Network Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Direct the IP Engineering team comprised of approximately 15 engineers in developing and supporting new services and the Company's network transport infrastructure including Regional Data centers, Local Data centers, Collocation centers and the Managed IP Network.
• Responsible for supporting the engineering and deployment of Residential & Commercial High Speed Internet and Telephone offerings. This includes value added services like VPN's (virtual private networks) home networking, Tiered Data Services.
• Responsible for network security, ensuring network elements are monitored, disaster recovery planning, IP management, network inventory.
• Responsible for design, implementation and support of special projects such as wi-fi networks, commercial hot spots, etc.
• Provides support including Technical Research & Design in selection of vendors, service providers, products and services used in the Company's Infrastructure. This would include creation of specification requirements and test plans.
• Responsible for supporting design and deployment of HSD and Telephone services in new markets. Works with launch coordinators to deploy New Services from Alpha through Production phases.
• Responsible for the design and implementation of all commercial Network Services projects.
• Responsible for design and implementation of all leased circuits and IP connectivity - including IP routing.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
• Minimum seven to ten years of business experience in either the Computer, Telephone & Data Industry
• Minimum five years experience managing/leading a team of engineers
• Must have Cisco experience, designing, configuring, and deploying Cisco equipment. Including working understanding of common routing concepts and protocols, including, RIP, RIPv2, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS
• Experience working in large service provider IP network environments
• Working understanding of database design and development
• Working understanding of various computer Operating Systems, i.e. Unix and Unix variants
• Working knowledge of HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax) Broadband network architecture, CMTS access, (cable modem termination system) and DOCSIS 1.x
• Familiarity with Cablelabs initiatives; e.g. Packetcable, DOCSIS, PCMM
• Working knowledge of MapInfo, Visio and PowerPoint
• Working Knowledge of Systems Architecture & Design; e.g. SMTP, NNTP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, MGCP, NCS, LCS, TOD, Security, etc.
• Working knowledge of Networking Architecture and OSI Model; e.g. TCP/IP, Sonet, RPR, DWDM, TDM, IPSEC, VPN's
• Working knowledge of OSS Framework and processes - related to TMN Model (Telecommunications Management Network)

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $133,886.00 - $214,218.00 / year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
