Schultz Construction is looking for motivated individuals who want to build a long-term career in the skilled trades to join our team as Pipefitter Apprentices.
Our paid apprenticeship program combines hands-on, on-the-job training with classroom instruction, giving you the skills and experience to become a New York State-certified Journeyworker Pipefitter.
No previous pipefitting experience is required. If you're dependable, willing to work hard, and ready to learn a skilled trade, we'll help you build the skills for a successful career.
WHAT YOU'LL DO & LEARN
As a Pipefitter Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced Pipefitters and learn how to:
- Install, maintain, and repair piping systems, valves, and related equipment.
- Learn welding, pipe joining, and other specialized pipefitting skills.
- Read plans, use tools and equipment, and develop mechanical skills.
- Work on a variety of commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Participate in structured classroom training to develop your technical knowledge.
- Follow safe work practices and learn industry standards.
- Progress through the apprenticeship while gaining skills, experience, and increasing wages.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for people who are ready to learn, willing to work, and interested in building a career—not just finding a job.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability and willingness to travel to various project locations.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding construction environment.
- Willingness to work hard and learn new skills.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment substance screening, as required by applicable state and federal regulations.
Preferred, but not required:
- Trade school or technical education.
- Previous construction, industrial, mechanical, welding, or related experience.
PROJECT LOCATIONS
Our projects are located throughout:
- Capital Region
- Hudson Valley
- Central New York
- Massachusetts
Applicants must be willing and able to travel to various project locations as needed.

- Regular wage increases as you progress through the apprenticeship.
