Join EY and help to build a better working world. **Background Investigations Coordinator, Administrative Advanced** Our General Counsel's Office (GCO) supports EY's business by serving as trusted advisors to the EY community and providing the highest quality legal services to EY's service lines and business enablement functions. **The opportunity** As a Background Investigations Coordinator, you'll perform various administrative and project related tasks of a responsible nature to support the General Counsel's Office (GCO) Investigations Group and other key management personnel. This position handles differing situations, problems, and deviations in the work of the department according to general instructions, priorities, policies, and team goals. The role coordinates the activities associated with background investigations in compliance with the requirements of EY clients. **Your key responsibilities** + Understand the firm's business and organization structure to function as a subject matter resource in department operations and as a technical resource for others; understand the dependencies that exist with other departments. + Respond to standard customer needs and inquiries by analyzing the activity and performing necessary and appropriate actions to reach resolution. + Use good judgment in applying concepts and guidelines; demonstrates effective problem solving and analytical skills; follows through on commitments and demonstrates ownership of results; effectively prioritizes assignments; identifies and works to overcome barriers to achieve results. + Utilize key internal contacts and knowledge repositories to answer questions and resolve issues. + Focus effort on clients' needs demonstrates a sense of urgency, particularly in connection with turnaround expectations and staffing deadlines. + Seek out opportunities to continually refine and streamline procedures improving quality of service delivery. + This position operates subject to the directions provided by those they support, however, uses experience and knowledge to guide day-to-day activities and confirms actions on a regular basis with those the position supports. + Perform duties and responsibilities with limited supervision in accordance with established policies and procedures. **Skills and attributes for success** + Coordinates with vendors and engagement teams to manage the client required background investigation (BI) process in obtaining the information needed and following through open items. + Assists in the extensive client contract review process to guide and help negotiate client background requirements for our employees. + Establishes and maintains a systematic method for tracking client BI requirements for EY employees working on client engagements. + Assists with coordination of large highly confidential time-sensitive projects, including promotional candidate background investigation programs (creating correspondence, printing material, organizing files, and tracking project status). + Manage annual audits of the BI process conducted by clients. + Manages vendor invoicing procedures. + Assists with coordination of the BI process for prospective client, client continuance, and EY-sponsored entrepreneurial programs. + Manages tasks and activities in a timely manner and is responsible for specific outcomes. + Assists in validating full compliance and appropriate documentation of materials. + Monitors team members' email and caseload when absent. + Identifies and leverages relationships with key internal and external clients and is recognized as a business partner/resource. + Demonstrates the value of the team's work by keeping the client up-to-date, and explaining issues, approaches, and solutions (i.e., manage expectations) Skills and attributes for success **To qualify for the role, you must have** + Strong collaboration and communication skills, both oral and written. + Ability to improve standardized best practices and service delivery to accomplish firm, group, customer, and/or individual goals. + Ability to meet new challenges and changes with an open mind and an optimistic response. + Ability to understand and anticipate customers' needs, deliver service that meets expectations, and demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to help. + Strong organization skills with the ability to successfully manage and coordinate simultaneous projects with multiple tasks and functions independently, while exercising sound judgment. + Proficiency in the use of standardized software and hardware applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. + The ability to acquire and maintain knowledge about our various technology resources in order to utilize these enablers effectively in delivering high value business solutions. + Bachelor's degree in related discipline, or equivalent work experience + 5 to 7 years of related experience **Ideally, you'll also have** + Previous experience working in the background screening industry. + Experience working with high volume data and in a deadline driven environment. + Experience working with a high performing team. **What we look for** We're interested in creative and innovative professionals who are inclusive, inquisitive with strong teaming skills. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $45,300 to $82,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $54,300 to $93,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
