Accounting Clerk
Staffworks is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Accounting Clerk to join our team! This role supports the Accounts Receivable function and helps ensure timely and accurate payment for goods and services provided to our clients. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to build experience in accounting within a fast-paced office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and accounts receivable transactions
- Create and submit invoices in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain and update customer account files (name/address changes, mergers, mailing updates, etc.)
- Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections
- Review files to identify delinquent accounts and contact customers to request payment
- Create reports on the status of customer accounts as requested
- Research customer discrepancies and past-due balances
- Copy, file, and retrieve accounts receivable documents as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
We offer a supportive team environment and an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting.
Pay: $16.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
