Assistant Professor of Psychology - Tenure Track

Disciplinary Area:  The Department of Psychology at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track appointment at the rank of assistant professor starting in August 2026 pending final administrative approval.  We seek candidates with expertise in Biopsychology or Behavioral Neuroscience, with preference given to those with a demonstrated commitment to excellence, innovation, and diversity in undergraduate teaching, close interaction with students, and a research program that includes undergraduates. The department of psychology features a suite of rooms dedicated to animal research, but animal research is not a requirement for the position. Minimum qualifications include a doctorate in psychology by the time of the appointment. Specific teaching assignments will include Biopsychology, Research in Biopsychology, Introductory Psychology (team-taught), Psychological Research Methods, and possibly general education courses, including our innovative first-year Flight Path courses. Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term. Tenure-track faculty are expected to actively engage in scholarly or creative activities. Committee service, including campus wide and departmental governance, and academic advising are expected for re-appointment, tenure, and promotion.
