About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team and drive the development of innovative, user-centric applications. In this role, you'll own features from conception to deployment, working across our modern tech stack to deliver exceptional user experiences. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and infrastructure teams while mentoring fellow engineers and helping shape our technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

Build and Maintain End-to-End Features

• Develop polished, performant user interfaces using React and Next.js
• Implement scalable backend services with Python (FastAPI) and Rust, focusing on responsiveness and maintainability
• Own features across the full stack—from database schema to API routes to frontend rendering

Design and Integrate REST APIs and Realtime Systems

• Build and consume RESTful APIs with attention to clarity, security, and versioning
• Work with WebSockets and other realtime streaming technologies to enable low-latency experiences
• Ensure robust communication patterns between frontend and backend systems

Database Design and Performance Optimization

• Model and query relational data effectively in PostgreSQL
• Collaborate with backend and data teams to design schemas, write efficient queries, and manage migrations
• Monitor and improve database performance as applications scale

Deploy, Monitor, and Support Applications in Production

• Use Docker for local development and containerized deployments
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on AWS-based deployment pipelines and environment configurations
• Take ownership of debugging, log tracing, and performance profiling in staging and production environments

Lead Through Collaboration and Communication

• Communicate clearly and frequently with product managers, designers, and engineers across teams
• Provide thoughtful code reviews and mentorship to teammates
• Help define technical direction and make architecture trade-offs in a growing codebase

90-Day Success Metrics

We expect senior engineers to ramp up quickly and begin making meaningful contributions early on. By 90 days, you will have:

• Built strong context around our codebase, architecture, and multi-repo workflows
• Developed productive working relationships across engineering, product, design, and infrastructure teams
• Shipped multiple end-to-end features or improvements, touching both frontend and backend
• Taken ownership of a slice of the system—whether an API, a UI flow, or a realtime interaction pattern
• Contributed thoughtful feedback in code reviews, planning sessions, and technical discussions
• Demonstrated clear, pragmatic decision-making and strong communication skills

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of full stack development experience with a proven track record of delivering production-ready features across frontend and backend systems
• Strong proficiency with React and Next.js , including deep understanding of React fundamentals, hooks, component design, and SSR/ISR patterns
• Backend expertise in Python (FastAPI) and/or Rust with hands-on experience building and scaling APIs in FastAPI
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling , including ability to design normalized schemas, write performant queries, and manage database migrations
• Comfort with realtime technologies such as WebSockets, server-sent events, or other realtime streaming tools
• Proficient with Docker and AWS fundamentals , including experience containerizing applications and familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, ECR, CloudWatch, CloudFront, IAM)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to clearly explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
• Bias toward ownership and practical problem solving with initiative in unfamiliar areas and pragmatic, ship-focused approach to trade-offs

Preferred Qualifications

• Production experience with Rust, especially for backend services, realtime processing, or performance-critical systems
• Deep understanding of realtime architectures and experience with streaming data or low-latency pipelines
• Strong multi-repo collaboration experience with understanding of coordinated deployments and shared ownership
• Cross-functional teamwork success with product, design, QA, and infrastructure teams
• Background in voice, audio, or conversational interfaces (speech recognition, text-to-speech, voice assistants, AI-generated audio)
• Strong product sense with ability to balance technical feasibility with product impact
