General Statement of Duties:
D'Youville seeks an enthusiastic, strategic and professional Associate Director of Philanthropy and Engagement. The Associate Director will work in partnership with the Advancement team to develop effective and visionary initiatives in support of our alumni fundraising goals. The successful candidate must have the ability to drive and coordinate the cultivation, solicitation ad stewardship of our alumni network and ensure a consistent message. The Associate Director works closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Engagement to pair engagement and fundraising opportunities with new and existing institutional initiatives and strategic objectives. The selected candidate will cultivate and solicit primarily gifts ($5,000+) from alumni and friends of D'Youville to support priority programs and initiatives.
The candidate will also:
- Identify and prioritize a portfolio of prospects and develop appropriate strategies to secure major gifts
- Collaborate with the alumni and annual giving teams to develop programs that engage and motivate donors.
- Solicit gifts through face-to-face visits and direct/individual Zoom, phone, and email solicitations.
- Collaborate closely with other gift officers on the strategic planning and execution of communications, programming and events for first-time donors and increased donors.
- Collaborate on individual donor stewardship projects as the need arises. Maintain records of donor touchpoints in a timely manner.
- Lead a portfolio of stewardship programs, including writing and developing creative content, distributing of annual reports and maintaining a stewardship tracking system for the Saints and Providence Society.
- Occasional event planning and frequently attending campus wide events is expected
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
2-3 years' relevant experience. Must include experience in fundraising, and cultivation and stewardship of donors.
Preferred Experience:
Fundraising experience at a college or university.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent writing, public speaking, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct professional presentations via phone and in person. Ability to take initiative and collaborate with others.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).
