Entry Level Systems Engineer

Entry-Level Systems Engineer Black River Systems Company, a small, established research-oriented engineering firm headquartered in Utica, NY, is looking for an Entry Level Systems Engineer to help us design and analyze state-of- the-art radar and electro-optical sensor systems. The candidate should have a strong background in applied mathematics or engineering. Candidates should have an interest in signal and image processing, control systems, or digital communications. The position is established to work in a team environment to develop technical solutions for our customers in areas such as algorithm development, functional analysis, performance tradeoff studies, prototype development, and proof-of-concept demonstrations. Position Requirements: * Bachelor of science in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or related, masters degree is a plus * Minimum 3.25 GPA * Solid communication, documentation, and collaborative/teamwork skills * Engineering skills in one or more languages widely used for software development (e.g. C/C++, Java, Rust, and/or Go) is desirable. * Experience with scientific computing languages (e.g. Python, Matlab, R, and/or Julia) and other software-based simulation is strongly desired. * Calculus I and Calculus II required * US citizenship - must have or be eligible for a Department of Defense security clearance Black River Systems is a small, growing employee owned company committed to advancing our employees quality of life on the job.
