Diesel Technician

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Albany, NY.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs engine overhauls unassisted
• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Compensation and Benefits: Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred),

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution, locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience: Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

QUALIFICATIONS

Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop

• A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
• A current valid license is required for this role
• Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
