Job Responsibilities
The Team Captain is responsible for all aspects of daily operations within their assigned area including but not limited to Compounding, Maintenance & Reliability, Fill & Assembly and Warehouse. ThesMane responsibilities include ensuring all work is performed in compliance with Safe Work Practices, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures, company policies and strategy. The Team Captain provides instruction, support, and guidance to help develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of team members. The Team Captain handles multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while and meeting/exceeding department KPI's.
Together with department leadership team, provide input on personal performance evaluation, team development and training. Provide results-oriented leadership guidance that drives continuous improvement consistent with the Operations Strategy.
Co-ordinate and assign all departmental activities for their designated area of responsibility, ensuring agreed upon goals and objectives are met. Extensive knowledge of department safety procedures, equipment, systems operations, and root cause analysis. Ability to apply knowledge and experience to meet and exceed job requirements.
Operations
Provide guidance and line/kettle expertise / knowledge to the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers. Actively trains and engage the team to take ownership regarding the task at hand.
Accountable for accurately update all active systems (e.g. LIMS, MES, TML, SAP). Review action items for completeness with effective follow up to closure, Review of shift report to drive Daily Directional Setting (DDS) meeting
Ensures line/kettle safety, quality and all operational line performance measures which includes #incidents, quality misses, breakdowns, OEE, DLE, execute schedule to achieve net attainment and MUV. Ensure changeovers and PMs are being coordinated and executed accordingly on their lines to achieve weekly net attainment. Drives improvements by actively collaborating with other departments.
Lead Shift Handover - Manages communication during shift handover, start-up, DDS and team information.
Knows and able to provide/coordinate training regarding all operational procedures.
Responsible for start-up, process checks, instructions, equipment (incl sanitization records), sampling, documentation, inspections, component & inventory adjustments, labelling and system updates for every PO within the scope of supervision. Accurate and timely completion of PO documentation (TECO).
Responsible for line clearance including material, equipment, returns and reconciliation of components. Responsible for line readiness at startups and material replenishments during production. (F&A production)
Use of the BI Tools to drive and improve daily operational KPIs.
Conduct Leader standard Walk / Audit of documentation, safety and GMP processes
Ensure safe and clean environment at their production lines/kettles, which includes 5S methodology.
Responsible for hours allocation and 100% PO & shift reconciliation to reflect the actual activities. This review should be completed for every PO on every shift. This will be validated by Shift / Work Center Manager on a daily basis.
Review daily attendance - Follow up with the employee related to attendance issue (late, absenteeism). Provide input to payroll.
Monitor and support initiatives to reduce spending in department supplies - including consumables, change parts and other overhead costs.
Driving/ensuring PO's are TECO'd on a timely basis
Responsible to execute preparations for Line trials and validations.
Responsible to arrange and coordinate with all team captains to ensure overtime is crewed by line priority.
Job Responsibilities Safety
Support Safety programs and initiatives - Work with safety team to implement corrective action identified.
Participate in Equipment Risk Assessment - Work with team to eliminate risk.
Support new employee onboarding and document training.
Ensure team is following all safety procedures - including but not limited to equipment movement, guard removal, LOTO
Lead safety behaviour by example, conduct leader's safety walks and initiate actions when required. Responsible to ensure all safety procedures are followed.
Quality
Maintain GMP compliance - Including all required documentation (following the 'Good documentation practice policy'), process verification, checklist review, housekeeping review
Audit and Support Data Integrity compliance on the lines/kettles, ensure hourly quality checks are being completed and take appropriate action when not in compliance. Ensure Zero Defect procedure compliance. (F&A)
Support investigation, and closure of deviations, CAPA's and change controls within the requested deadline.
Ensure rework POS, OTC POs are closed on time (Batch Complete stamp in TML) FM labs are closed within the required timelines (F&A)
Responsible to track reworks in their areas to completion in a timely matter.
Responsible to review and action to clear PGR and 390 block bins for their areas of responsibility.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in CI initiatives - KAIZEN; 2BAD, LANDMINES.
Drives improvements by actively collaborating with other departments.
Learning & Development
In partnership with L&D identify training gaps. Execute procedures, assessments and training plans developed by L&D.
Identify and assign trainers, set training plan in place, drive training plan to close gaps.
Ensure timely completion of Training for all employees - GMP / Safety Procedures and SOP.
Qualifications 2 yr+ College / University
Minimum 2 years' experience in Manufacturing environment
Experience with MS Office, SAP and TML preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. English language proficiency. Knowledge of Company procedures, documentation, and QA Standards. Demonstrated personal leadership.
