Community Engagement Coordinator

We All Really Matter (W.A.R.M.) is a Harlem-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and families impacted by domestic violence. Through advocacy, education, community partnerships, and holistic healing services, W.A.R.M. provides the resources, tools, and compassionate care survivors need to leave unsafe situations and rebuild their lives with dignity and stability. Grounded in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, W.A.R.M. creates safe spaces where individuals can find their voice, strengthen their independence, and move toward long-term safety, wellness, and self-determination.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY, serving the Harlem community. The Community Engagement Coordinator serves as a visible ambassador for W.A.R.M., acting as the first line of contact between the organization and the broader community. In this role, the Coordinator focuses on building relationships, increasing awareness, and expanding the organization’s presence through outreach and education. Responsibilities include organizing and executing community events, conducting outreach initiatives, distributing informational materials, tabling at local gatherings, and collaborating with community partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to promote W.A.R.M.’s mission and programming.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Education
- Share information about WARM’s services, resources, and referral pathways
- Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, schools, faith institutions, and community leaders
- Attend community board meetings, NYPD meetings, and partner convenings
- Conduct outreach presentations, workshops, and tabling events
- Distribute flyers, materials, and prevention education resources throughout the community
Outreach Operations & Event Support
- Plan, track, and manage daily/weekly/monthly outreach schedules and activities
- Prepare outreach kits, literature packets, care kits, and event materials
- Create and manage sign-in sheets and collect accurate participant data
- Enter event data into spreadsheets and databases for reporting
- Assemble outreach bags and supplies for fieldwork
Administrative & Logistics Support
- Support filing, documentation, database entry, and recordkeeping
- Maintain inventory and organization of outreach materials and external storage units
- Pick up/drop off donations and supplies as needed
- Provide transportation assistance when required (valid license required)
Qualifications
- Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, survivor needs, and community resources
- Commitment to survivor advocacy, social justice, and community empowerment
- Empathetic, compassionate, and able to work with individuals experiencing crisis
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with public speaking and presentations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Sheets)
- Ability to manage data and documentation accurately
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to safely transport materials and supplies
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (relevant lived or professional experience considered)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
