PNC Business Credit is a leading provider of flexible financing solutions for private equity firms, offering private credit, cash flow revolvers and Term Loan A, software/ARR lending, ABL, BSL, and other senior secured products. Based in New York, the team originates, structures, and executes PE backed leveraged buyouts, recaps, and refinancing's through long standing sponsor and advisor relationships.

The Director will originate and lead debt financing transactions with top tier private equity clients and oversee the full investment lifecycle—from sourcing and underwriting through documentation and closing. The role provides broad visibility with senior leadership and significant influence on team processes and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead coverage and relationship management of large cap to lower middle market PE firms to source, qualify, and structure new financing opportunities for PE backed deals.
  • Maintain relationships with direct lending firms for partnership and co lend opportunities.
  • Partner closely with product groups (Private Credit, Capital Markets, Technology Finance/ARR, ABL, AR Securitization, etc.).
  • Analyze and qualify initial deal opportunity, assess fit, and recommend pursuit of transaction.
  • Prepare and present screening materials, credit analyses, and term sheet recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Deliver, pitch, and negotiate term sheets; lead negotiations of commercial and legal terms.
  • Manage due diligence workstreams across underwriting, legal, and syndication.
  • Guide junior bankers in evaluating, structuring, and screening opportunities.
  • Maintain market intelligence on sponsor activity, M&A trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Represent PNC Business Credit at sponsor meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Manage pipeline and activity within the CRM platform.

Job Description
Leads business development activities for credit-based products through active solicitation and cultivation of more complex new client relationships in an assigned market area. Works independently with minimal supervision.
Prospects, maintains and strengthens a network. This includes dialogues with sponsor groups, financial intermediaries, businesses, accountants, attorneys, banks, and additional Centers of Influence.
Performs more complex credit structuring and analyzes financial information to determine if the client's financing requirements meet PNC parameters. Manages risk/return and actively identifies and mitigates different types of risk for new clients, such as regulatory, reputational, operational and credit risks.
Develops comprehensive financing package structured to meet client needs, drive client acceptance and deepen share of wallet.
Coordinates credit underwriting, due diligence and loan documentation with internal and external partners.

In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Pay Transparency
Base Salary: $104,000.00 – $269,100.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
