Technical 3D Women’s Dress & Pattern Specialist

We are seeking a talented and technical 3D Fashion Specialist with a strong foundation in traditional pattern making to join our design team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between digital innovation and physical garment construction for our women’s dress collections.

The ideal candidate will not only be a power-user of 3D simulation software but will also possess the structural knowledge required to ensure digital designs are production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Prototyping: Create high-fidelity 3D garment simulations from 2D patterns, focusing on complex draping, fabric physics, and intricate dress details.
• Pattern Engineering: Develop and refine accurate 2D patterns. You must understand how to translate a 3D aesthetic into a functional, sewable garment.
• Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with design and production teams to streamline the transition from digital concept to physical sample.
• Fit & Silhouette Optimization: Conduct virtual fit sessions to analyze tension, pressure maps, and fabric drape to minimize physical sampling rounds.
• Material Visualization: Apply digital textures, prints, and trims to 3D assets to provide realistic visualizations for design reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Mastery: Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (such as CLO 3D , Browzwear , or Style3D ).  Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of physical property presets (fabric weight, bend, and stretch).
• Pattern Making Expertise: Proven experience in manual or CAD-based pattern making (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, or Optitex) is a plus.
• Technical Accuracy: Ability to draft and refine 2D patterns that are production-ready, including notches, grainlines, and seam allowances.
• Garment Construction Knowledge: A deep understanding of women’s dress construction, including linings, closures, and internal support structures.
• Digital Draping: Proven ability to simulate complex dress silhouettes, including asymmetrical drapes, multi-layered skirts, and internal support structures (boning, interfacing, and linings).
• Fit Analysis: Skilled in reading 3D "Stress & Strain" maps to identify fit issues and translating those digital findings back into 2D pattern corrections.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of textile physics, and how physical fabric properties translate into digital environments.
• Eye for Detail: An aesthetic sensibility for women's fashion, specifically regarding drape, movement, and silhouette.
• Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high digital fidelity.
