Job Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is a skilled Pathologist Assistant / Pathology Technician to support the Surgical Pathology department at a leading medical center. The role involves assisting pathologists with specimen examination, processing, and ensuring compliance with laboratory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pathologists with gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens
• Prepare and process tissue samples for histological analysis
• Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and specimen tracking
• Maintain pathology reports and laboratory records
• Perform quality control and ensure compliance with lab protocols
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Follow infection control and safety procedures
• Collaborate with pathology and laboratory staff for timely results
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program (NAACLS or equivalent recognized by NYSED)
• Active New York State Pathologist Assistant license required
• 0–3 years of pathology experience required
• Strong knowledge of surgical pathology procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
