Surgical Tech Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940-$1990
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Surgical Tech Contract)
• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Hospital – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/23/2025 – End: 12/23/2025)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• On-call: 1 call shift per week and 1 full weekend per month
• Orientation: Paid orientation (up to 5 hours of modules)

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Active NY state Surgical Technologist license (required for New York surgical tech jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Tech experience
• Specialized experience in Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) procedures
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system (required)
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• Prior travel healthcare experience required
• Trauma Level I or II hospital experience preferred
• Must reside more than 75 miles from Rochester, NY

Surgical Tech Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons in a variety of cardiovascular and general surgical procedures for both adult and pediatric patients
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile fields in the CVOR
• Float to general operating room procedures as needed
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide weekend coverage as scheduled
• Ensure accurate specimen handling, labeling, and documentation
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and adhere to hospital safety protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
