Travel Nursing Job Details

• Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Travel Assignment
• Location: Watertown, NY 13601 (New York nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Women and Children Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Duration: 8 weeks (September 22, 2025 – November 19, 2025)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250 - $2310

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Proficient in performing vaginal exams, circulating for C-sections, and recovering spinal anesthesia
• Strong clinical assessment, teaching, and patient care skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities
• Ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving and leadership skills in high-stress healthcare environments
• Recognize safety issues and utilize patient lifts appropriately
• Must comply with a 60-mile radius rule for travel nurse eligibility

L&D Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in the Women and Children Unit
• Perform and document vaginal exams, monitor labor progression, and provide clinical support during delivery
• Circulate and assist during C-sections; provide post-anesthesia recovery care
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Respond promptly to emergencies and intervene in life-threatening situations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients, families, and staff
