Baking Assistant — Adesso Bakeshop

Part-Time / 2 Nights a Week / Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Adesso Bakeshop is a growing Brooklyn bakery making sourdough cookies, Italian amaretti, mochi brownies, and seasonal baked goods.

We are looking for 1–2 part-time Baking Assistants to help with weekly production.

This is a hands-on kitchen support role. You will help scoop cookie dough, roll amaretti, cleaning, and dish duties.

This is a good fit for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable doing dish and repetitive work, and wants to learn. Previous baking or kitchen experience is helpful, but not required. We will teach you what you need to know.

This role is different from our Baker role. Baking Assistants are not expected to lead production or work independently right away.

Schedule

Thursday and Friday evenings
Approx. 5:30pm – 9:30/10:30pm

More hours may be available as we grow.
You must be able to work these evening shifts every week.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with cookie prep including scooping cookie dough to exact weights and rolling amaretti by hand.
• Wash dishes, sweep, mop, take out trash, and help close the kitchen
• Set up sheet pans, parchment, labels, and containers
• Instructions, and kitchen systems
• Ask questions when you are unsure
• Keep your work area clean and safe
• Communicate clearly with the team

• Able to follow directions carefully
• Comfortable doing the same task many times
• Comfortable on your feet for 4+ hours
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly.
• Clean and organized
• Positive and easy to work with
• Willing to learn
• Able to communicate clearly in English
• Previous baking, kitchen, or food production experience is a plus but not required
• Basic food safety knowledge is a plus

Pay

$20/hour
