Health and Prenatal Coordinator
• Support screenings, follow-ups, and accurate health record management while maintaining compliance with program standards
• Partner with families, staff, and community providers to improve access to care and remove barriers such as transportation and insurance
• Promote family wellness by providing guidance and education on child health, maternal health, and prenatal care QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS Required: • Associate’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Education, or a related field required (Bachelor’s preferred)
• LPN preferred; willingness to obtain Doula certification encouraged
• Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards and applicable state regulations preferred
• Experience working with young children, pregnant women, and families, especially in diverse or low-income communities
• Experience with data systems and maintaining accurate records Preferred: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build trusting relationships with families and community partners
• Organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Problem-solving skills and ability to remove barriers to services
• Data entry, tracking, and documentation accuracy
• Cultural responsiveness and ability to work with diverse populations
• Team collaboration and ability to work independently
• Professional judgment, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS: • Travel between program sites required; occasional evening or off-site meetings, trainings, or events
• Frequent interaction with families, children, staff, and community partners in person, virtually, and by phone
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive family and health information
• Regular use of computers and data systems for documentation and reporting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
• Occasional lifting (up to approximately 40lbs) and ability to sit, stand, and move between classrooms and offices throughout the day
• Exposure to typical early childhood classroom environments, including noise and active settings
• This job requires consistent attendance and punctuality at the job site.
