Clinical Account Manager - NYC
The Opportunity
The Clinical Account Manager (CAM) plays a unique hybrid role that combines clinical expertise with commercial execution to drive the adoption and growth of an innovative critical care therapy platform throughout the United States. This individual will provide hands-on clinical support in intensive care environments while partnering with physicians, hospital stakeholders, and internal sales teams to achieve regional business objectives.
This role is responsible for delivering high-quality product training, supporting live clinical procedures, onboarding new hospital accounts, and identifying opportunities to expand utilization within existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support & Training
- Lead successful onboarding of new hospital accounts and physician users while expanding utilization within the existing customer base
- Provide in-depth case coverage and technical support for surgeons, physicians, and critical care teams during procedures and evaluations
- Conduct initial and ongoing system training for surgical teams, ICU staff, and sterile processing departments
- Partner with the Clinical Education team to support physician and staff education programs
- Serve as the clinical product expert, providing on-site troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and technical guidance
Sales & Account Development
- Partner with Regional and Territory Sales Managers to meet or exceed revenue and product utilization goals
- Identify, recruit, and train new physician users and hospital accounts
- Develop clinical champions and advocates within accounts to drive sustained adoption
- Support new account launches and grow utilization within the installed customer base
- Assist in building account growth strategies, utilization plans, and opportunity matrices
- Engage healthcare providers on clinical outcomes, therapy benefits, and economic value propositions
- Utilize hospital and patient data to demonstrate value to key decision-makers
Collaboration & Communication
- Maintain strong communication with Sales, Marketing, and Clinical Education teams to align on strategy, share market feedback, and improve training effectiveness
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to increase market awareness and penetration
- Manage account activities, including inventory, calendars, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Work closely with territory leadership to ensure successful launches and ongoing utilization growth
Required Qualifications
- 3â5 years of recent critical care or medical device sales experience or 10+ years of clinical experience (RN, RT, or similar) with commercial exposure supporting sales teams
- Demonstrated ability to train, educate, and influence healthcare professionals in hospital environments
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Strong project management and territory planning capabilities
- Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours based on clinical schedules
- Strong clinical and technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot in high-pressure settings
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage hospital staff, vendors, investigators, and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Must reside within 60 minutes of a major airport
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, Life Sciences, or related field
- Prior experience supporting Class III medical devices
- Understanding of critical care workflows, ventilator management, and patient monitoring
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals in hospital-based environments
