Clinical Psychotherapist Job Description

ABOUT US

At Being Health, we are redefining mental healthcare for modern life. Being Health is a psychiatrist-led practice reimagining mental healthcare through an innovative, integrated model. We bring together psychiatry, interventional treatments for depression (such as SPRAVATO® or intranasal esketamine), psychotherapy, integrative health and functional medicine, acupuncture and nutrition to support whole-person healing.

Located in New York City, we offer both virtual and in-person services and are in network with major commercial payors with plans to expand to new locations. Our interdisciplinary team delivers compassionate, evidence-based care that is personalized, collaborative, and forward-thinking. Currently in network with some of the major commercial payors, we’re building a new standard for modern mental health—designed to help people feel better and function better, mind and body.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychotherapist to join our psychotherapy program, who is passionate about delivering high-quality, innovative, and evidence-based care within a modern mental health practice.

This position will focus on general psychotherapy as well as for support around SPRAVATO® care for patients with treatment resistant depression. If you have experience with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and/or have been trained in psychedelic therapies, this role may be for you.

You will provide both individual and group psychotherapy to patients experiencing anxiety, mood, depressive, and trauma- and stressor-related disorders and will have experience working across a range of mental health conditions, including individuals with severe and treatment-resistant depression. You will also play a key role in supporting patients undergoing SPRAVATO® treatment. Responsibilities include conducting preparation sessions prior to treatment, providing therapeutic support throughout the treatment course, and facilitating post-session integrations when possible to help patients meaningfully process and apply insights from their experience.

The ideal candidate has 1) demonstrated experience conducting suicide risk assessments and treating depressive and mood disorders in complex clinical presentations, and has 2) direct clinical experience with ketamine- or psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy , including preparation and integration work.

This is a part-time position (3 days per week) or full-time position (5 days per week) with benefits. The primary work location is our office in the Financial District in Manhattan. In coordination with the Medical Director, a portion of clinical work may be conducted virtually. Specific days and hours are flexible and will be determined in collaboration with the hiring manager.

You will:

  • Provide compassionate direct patient care in person with an emphasis on comprehensive mental health evaluations, diagnostic assessments, creating personalized care plans, following up on care as needed, and providing high-quality psychotherapy, and assist with 15 minute intake and triage calls as needed
