QC Technician

Niagara Falls. Precious Plate. QC Technician. $20 - $23/hour.

The Opportunity

Precious Plate is hiring a Quality Control Technician to join our team. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for the testing and disposition of finished goods in accordance to customer and ISO/TS requirements. This is a full-time position, working from 6am 6pm or 6pm 6am on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, reporting to the Quality Control Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspection and testing of plated product according to requirements
• Testing includes but is not limited to the use of X-ray fluorescence equipment, comparator, toolmakers microscope,micrometer and vernier calipers.
• Final product release, take appropriate action on non-conforming materials
• Identify/label Non-conforming product and quarantine appropriately in accordance with applicable work instructions and practices
• Address deviations, make appropriate decisions
• Catalog and store material retention samples in accordance with applicable work instructions and practices
• Follow all safety rules and regulations
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail oriented work environment
• Ability to read, write and understand verbal and written instructions
• Ability to identify and communicate quality problems
• Math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Ability to work independently and perform cooperatively with others
• Ability to hear, see, occasionally bend, stoop and kneel, stand for 8 to 12 hours per day, and push, pull or lift up to 50lbs as needed to perform essential job functions
• Basic computer knowledge
• Manual dexterity needed to perform some job functions

Working Conditions

• Regularly works with chemical solutions
• Environment may be high temperatures depending on ambient outside temperature
• Safety glasses, steel or composite toe boots, and hearing protection required
• Other PPE may be required depending on responsibilities
• Could be exposed to background noise, odors, or dust
