Senior Accountant – Real Estate

We are seeking candidates for a Senior Accountant position with a leading real estate company. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will serve as the primary accounting resource responsible for day-to-day corporate accounting function and the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands‑on corporate accounting experience and MUST HAVE Yardi experience.

This is 2-3-month contract that will pay $50-60/hr (depending on experience) within a 30-hour work week. All qualified candidates who are 100% Remote will be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage prepaid expenses, including amortization schedules and related journal entries.
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and accounting activity.
• Record and manage accruals and ensure expenses are properly captured in the appropriate accounting periods.
• Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and reporting.
• Utilize Yardi to record, review, and reconcile accounting activity.
• Partner directly with the Controller on accounting operations, close activities, and reporting.
• Identify process improvements and ensure accounting records are accurate and up to date.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day corporate accounting activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a corporate, real estate, hospitality, or related environment.
• Strong understanding of the full month-end close process.
• Hands‑on experience with prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience working independently in a lean accounting environment.
• Yardi experience strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to take ownership of responsibilities with minimal supervision.
