Authorization Representatives
Our medical center is seeking an practiced Authorization Representative to join our team in Poughkeepsie, NY. The prosperous candidate will be responsible for obtaining insurance authorizations for medical procedures and services, verifying patient benefits, and communicating with insurance companies to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.Job employment Type: Temporary with the possibility to go permanent
Pay Range: $17 - $22 per hour
Schedule: Flexible schedule; open 7am – 5:30pm, could be 4-day with 10-hour shifts or traditional 5-day 8-hour shift
Authorization Representative Qualifications required
»Previous insurance or medical admin practice required
»Strong knowledge of insurance policies and authorizations
»Excellent verbal and written communication expertise
»Strong attention to detail and accuracy
» capability to work independently and as part of a team
»Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other significant software applications
»High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Authorization Representative Responsibilities:
»Obtain insurance authorizations for medical procedures and services
»Verify patient benefits and eligibility
»Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies
»Maintain accurate records of patient insurance information and authorization status
»Work closely with medical staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of authorizations
»Keep up-to-date on insurance regulations and policies
