Job Title: Registered Dietitian – Acute Care
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 35 Hours/Week
Pay Rate:
- Travelers: $55–$59/hr ($1,925–$2,065/week)
- Locals: $47–$50/hr ($1,645–$1,750/week)
Compensation based on experience.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to join a healthcare team in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will assess patients’ nutritional needs, provide dietary education, monitor food and drug interactions, and collaborate with physicians to support optimal patient care outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Screen and assess patients based on level of care and nutritional status
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
- Interview patients and families regarding dietary habits and preferences
- Interpret laboratory, physical, and social data relevant to nutrition care
- Educate patients on prescribed diets and food/drug interactions
- Document nutrition education and patient understanding in medical records
- Modify patient menus and dietary plans as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff regarding diet modifications
- Monitor and document patient progress and follow-up care
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Dietitian experience required
- Degree in Dietetics or Foods & Nutrition from an accredited institution
- Registered Dietitian certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required for acute care settings
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- AHA BLS certification preferred
