Job Description
Momoya is seeking an experienced, hands-on, and hospitality-driven Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate is passionate about guest satisfaction, team development, and operational excellence. This individual will be responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, managing front-of-house teams, supporting back-of-house collaboration, and ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and profitability are consistently achieved.
The Restaurant Manager will lead by example, foster a positive workplace culture, and play a key role in the continued success and growth of the Momoya brand.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all daily restaurant operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences and efficient service
Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house staff, including scheduling, training, performance management, and employee engagement
Maintain a strong presence on the floor during service and address guest concerns professionally and effectively
Manage labor costs, staffing levels, and scheduling to meet operational needs and financial goals
Monitor and maintain service standards, food quality, cleanliness, and overall restaurant presentation
Collaborate closely with culinary and management teams to ensure smooth communication and execution of service
Assist with inventory management, ordering, cost control, and vendor relationships
Analyze sales performance, labor reports, and operational metrics to drive profitability
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and company policies
Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention of team members
Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
Uphold and promote Momoya's culture, values, and hospitality standards
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume restaurant environment
Experience with Japanese cuisine and culture preferred
Knowledge of sake and Japanese hospitality is highly preferred
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to manage teams, drive performance, and achieve operational goals
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of labor management, scheduling, and restaurant financials
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts
NYC Food Handler's Certificate preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($75,000 - $95,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
