Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to play a critical role in driving the success of complex commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of electrical systems and construction methodologies, along with the ability to translate design intent into actionable pricing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Estimating: Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale electrical construction projects.
• Analysis: Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to define scope and identify risk factors.
• Takeoffs: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
• Pricing Models: Develop complete pricing models including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes.
• Vendor Management: Solicit, review, and level vendor and subcontractor proposals.
• Value Engineering: Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate project risks and incorporate strategic contingencies into final estimates.
• Collaboration: Present bid packages during internal reviews and client discussions; work closely with PMs and engineers during preconstruction.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in Electrical Estimating, ideally within a contracting environment.
• Project History: Proven track record of preparing estimates for complex or large-scale projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry software (Accubid, ConEst, etc.) and familiarity with BIM/digital takeoff tools.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of labor productivity, unit costs, and current material pricing trends.
• Documentation: Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Project Delivery: Experience working in design-build or design-assist environments.
