Summer Camp Counselor - Preschool aged (Seasonal)
Camp Mini Sinai is a local Jewish day camp in NYC for children 2-6 years old. As a Jewish faith-based camp, we follow Jewish traditions and guidelines in our daily routines. Our camp features a curriculum that includes davening (prayer services) each day. Additionally, our curriculum covers a range of Jewish topics, such as learning about upcoming holidays and exploring the land of Israel, its history, and significance.
Mini Sinai is licensed by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. We follow all DOHMH ratios requirements, counselor requirements, and safety procedures.
Senior counselors must be 18+
Junior counselors must be 16+
Camp dates: June 29th - August 21st.
Hours: various hours available. We are open 8am - 6pm and are looking for both full time and part time staff members.
Salary: $2500-$4500 depending on experience and hours.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with children ages 2-5 years of age in a summer camp setting, as well as a passion for working with children.
Candidates will work closely with a team of Camp Counselors and will be responsible for running activies just as, water play, arts and crafts, science, sports, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans and activities.
- Be concerned with the safety of others and serve as a role model.
- Deal patiently with campers and parents.
- Changing soiled clothing / diapers of those not toilet-trained.
- Work as a team player.
- A knowledge of Judaism is a plus!
