Job Title: Registered Dietitian

Location: Bronx, NY

Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Schedule: Day Shift | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, education, and care planning in a clinical setting. This role involves evaluating patients’ nutritional needs, monitoring food and drug interactions, and collaborating with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients for food and drug interactions and provide appropriate education
• Document nutrition education and patient understanding in the medical record
• Screen and assess patients to determine nutritional needs and provide timely follow-up care
• Conduct patient and family interviews to obtain dietary history and preferences
• Interpret laboratory values and clinical data relevant to nutrition care
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
• Modify patient menus based on clinical needs and physician recommendations
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams regarding diet modifications
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dietitian
• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Food & Nutrition, or related field from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience
• Master’s degree in Dietetics or Nutrition
• AHA BLS Certification

Certifications & Licensure

• Registered Dietitian (RD) – Required
• For Acute Care Settings:
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) (Primary Source Verification required)
• For Post-Acute (Long-Term Care) Settings:
  • New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (NYSED) (required at time of hire)
