Product Marketing Intern

Diligent Corporation
New York, NY
Position Overview:

In this role, you’ll help build and maintain the core strategic foundations that commercial teams rely on to sell Diligent Boards effectively. You’ll own and evolve a centralized Messaging House that serves as a one-stop shop for key product messages, target audiences and personas, pain points, and competitive context. You’ll also support the development of a Director Persona Agent, using existing materials and new research to help reps quickly understand what Directors care about, the challenges they face, and how Diligent Boards’ capabilities map to their needs.

You’ll further shape go-to-market strategy through win/loss analysis, delivering weekly qualitative insights on key deals and a quantitative summary of trends by the end of the internship. You’ll analyze the performance of our new pricing and packaging, providing insight into adoption, feedback, and what’s working or not six months into launch. Finally, you’ll help maintain and enhance our Competitive Intelligence Agent, continually feeding it fresh data and surfacing new patterns and insights to inform sales and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support core go-to-market initiatives for the Board product through research, analysis, and development of clear, sales-ready messaging and positioning.
  • Build and maintain foundational assets (Messaging House, personas, value narratives) by synthesizing product capabilities, target audiences, pain points, and competitive context into usable insights for commercial teams.
  • Conduct persona and customer research, including creating and refining a Director persona, mapping challenges and buying drivers to product capabilities and value propositions.
  • Own ongoing win/loss analysis, performing weekly qualitative reviews of key deals and delivering concise insights and an end-of-internship quantitative and qualitative summary.
  • Analyze pricing and packaging performance, assessing adoption trends, deal feedback, and customer signals to identify what’s working, what’s not, and why.
  • Maintain and enhance competitive intelligence, monitoring competitor messaging, positioning, and product changes to surface implications and recommendations for sales and marketing.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Turn complex information into clear, structured, and usable insights, with strong written communication skills.
  • Conduct research and analysis across qualitative sources (interviews, deal notes, call summaries) and basic quantitative/data sets (spreadsheets).
  • Apply strong organizational skills and attention to information structure to create repeatable, easy-to-use outputs.
  • Leverage AI tools to support research, synthesis, and knowledge management workflows.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • (Nice to have) Prior experience in product marketing, strategy, consulting, or sales operations, especially within B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
  • (Nice to have) Familiarity with competitive analysis, pricing research, CRM data, or BI tools.

U.S pay range

$20—$20 USD
