Isaiah’s Figtree is an eco-conscious gardening company creating and maintaining beautiful urban gardens throughout New York City. We specialize in sustainable horticulture, thoughtful garden design, and high-quality plant care for residential and commercial clients.

We are seeking an experienced Gardener to help maintain and install gardens across NYC during the 2026 growing season and beyond.

Job Details

Job Type: Seasonal (Mid-March – Mid-December)

Schedule: Part-time (about 20–25 hours per week) Hours may vary depending on weather and seasonal workload

Location: Work takes place throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Western Long Island

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay based on experience Performance bonuses and commissions available

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain residential and commercial gardens across NYC
• Plant and install garden elements including perennials, shrubs, and seasonal plantings
• Perform routine horticultural care including: watering, pruning, transplanting, mulching, organic pest and weed management, and more as needed
• Pick up and drive a small company truck to job sites
• Transport plants, soil, and materials efficiently and courteously
• Keep garden spaces clean and organized (sweeping, debris removal, compost sorting)
• Take before and after photos of completed work, upload to company photo drive
• Transport tools, plants, landscaping materials, and yard waste as needed
• Clean and maintain gardening tools and equipment
• Communicate clearly with clients and coworkers
• Keep notes on daily work and garden conditions and upload after on-site work

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years professional gardening or landscaping experience
• Strong knowledge ofplant identification and horticultural practices
• Valid Driver’s License
• Comfortable driving a small truck in NYC traffic
• Ability to work independently and solve problems on site
• Experience using standard gardening tools and equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs periodically throughout the day
• Comfortable working outdoors in varyingweather conditions
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Professional communication with clients and coworkers

Preferred (Not Required)

• Irrigation system knowledge
• Basic woodworking or masonry skills
