Staff Resources Assistant II (HELP Program)

Vacancy: At present there is one (1) anticipated vacancy with the Seneca County Veterans Services Office.

Residency: Candidates must have been legal residents of Seneca County or one of the six (6) contiguous counties for one (1) month preceding the date of application. Preference in appointment may be given to successful candidates who have been legal residents of the municipality in which appointment is to be made for at least one (1) month prior to the date of certification and are residents of such municipality at the time of appointment.

Typical Work Activities:

• Supervises the clerical support staff in an office setting.
• Reviews time sheets for accuracy and submits to Personnel Office.
• Types and submits expense vouchers.
• Maintains departmental personnel records assuring proper credentials.
• Orients new employees on policies and procedures.
• Makes weekly bank deposits.
• Acquires departmental supplies.
• Makes appointments and maintains appointment schedule for the department head or manager.
• Types various documents.
• Maintains confidential file system for the department and types all confidential correspondence.
• Types, makes copies, and sends fax messages.
• Prepares and submits travel statistics.

Minimum Qualifications: (Either)

• A. Possession of an Associate Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field and three years of experience in Office Administration.
• B. Graduation from high school or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma and five years of experience in Senior Level Clerical Work.
• C. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
