Psychiatrist – (New York City)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team in New York City . The Psychiatrist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing mental health conditions across diverse patient populations. This role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering evidence-based psychiatric care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including medical history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and other evidence-based interventions.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring efficacy and side effects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care providers.
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
• Participate in case conferences, peer reviews, and continuing education to stay current with psychiatric best practices.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program .
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry (ABPN).
• Valid New York State medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred, though new graduates with strong training will be considered.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, psychotherapy modalities, and integrated care approaches.
