Nuclear Medicine Technologist,

This role involves performing nuclear medicine imaging and therapy procedures on adult outpatients (16 years and older), primarily focusing on general nuclear medicine exams such as bone scans, Hida scans, and thyroid scans. The technologist will review patient history, educate patients, position them for procedures, ensure image quality, analyze results, report findings using Epic, and manage radiopharmaceuticals. The position also includes monitoring patient condition and maintaining inventory.

Responsibilities:

- Review patient history and physician's orders.
- Educate patients on procedures and equipment.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures, ensuring proper techniques based on patient age and abilities.
- Analyze imaging results and identify quality issues, taking corrective action as needed.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results using Epic.
- Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to protocols and regulations.
- Continuously monitor patient condition and report changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain inventory of supplies.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and communicate respectfully.
- Perform PET/CT scans.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the NMTCB or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the ARRT.
- CT Certification (NMTCB-CT or ARRT-CT).
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine (2 years preferred).
- PET/CT training and licensure (candidates without professional PET/CT experience will be considered).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Epic experience.

Special Considerations:

- Outpatient setting.
- Primarily adult patients (16 years and older).
- No holidays, call, or weekend shifts.

Scheduling:

- Day shifts with some evenings until 7 PM EST.
- 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts.
