Head of Education, Member Monitoring and Development

The Head of Education, Member Monitoring and Development provides strategic leadership for IFAC’s global membership network. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive membership strategies that strengthen relationships, expand member value, and enhance IFAC’s influence and impact worldwide. This role oversees membership operations, including adoption and implementation, stakeholder engagement, and education and development initiatives, ensuring alignment with IFAC’s strategic goals and Member Value Proposition. The role is crucial for driving membership retention and stakeholder development, while fostering strong partnerships and delivering exceptional member experiences. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work closely with the Member Engagement Leads to develop and implement a comprehensive member strategy that strengthens retention, deepens engagement, and enhances the overall MVP.
- Lead initiatives to identify and cultivate new membership opportunities and stakeholder partnerships, driving organizational growth and influence.
- Provide strategic insights and updates to Senior Leadership on membership trends, stakeholder feedback, and opportunities for engagement or development.
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership to the Education team, ensuring the quality of International Education Standards.
- Collaborate closely and maintain ongoing engagement with the Chair of the Education Panel to align priorities, support initiatives, and ensure effective execution of the panel’s strategic objectives.
- Strengthening the Global accountancy profession by developing and setting minimum requirements for both aspiring and current professional accountants worldwide.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership to identify and deliver new offerings, experiences, and benefits that enhance member value and drive engagement.
- Oversee membership data systems and integrity, including strategic oversight of IFAC’s member customer relationship management (CRM) system, to ensure data accuracy and optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with the Communications team on the development and delivery of membership marketing, outreach campaigns, and communication strategies, ensuring alignment with IFAC’s brand and mission.
- Serve as a thought leader on best practices in membership development, stakeholder relations, and association management.
- Manage communications with Member Bodies in coordination with the Member Engagement and Experience team, including high-level correspondence, engagement management, and timely response to member inquiries and needs.
- Oversee the annual membership data collection process, analyze trends, and produce insights to inform leadership and governance decisions.
- Serve as a point of contact, in conjunction with the Member Engagement and Experience team, to Member Bodies, regional organizations, volunteers, and external partners, fostering collaborative relationships and stakeholder trust.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across membership operations, leveraging data insights (e.g., adoption and implementation of standards) to inform decision-making and optimize processes.
- Manage, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Represent IFAC at external meetings, conferences, and events, promoting the organization’s mission and engaging with key stakeholders globally.
- Manage external vendors and consultants engaged in membership-related projects, digital tools, and system enhancements.
- Participate in strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives to advance IFAC’s Member Value Proposition and organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration or an equivalent; Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field required; Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in membership development, stakeholder engagement, association management, or related fields, preferably within a nonprofit or global professional membership organization.
- Proven success in developing and executing membership growth strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, and revenue generation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of membership systems, CRM databases, and digital engagement tools; experience with iMIS or similar platforms preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives, board members, and international stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse cultural and geographic contexts.
