Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Location: South Orange Family YMCA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Membership Director

Job Description:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Role is for someone that is friendly, outgoing and has experience and proven success with multi-tasking and problem solving.

Essential Functions:

• Providing excellent service to members and guests.
• Promoting YMCA Membership and Programs.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Welcome Center and lobby area.
• Accurately collect and input membership/program information into the computer.
• Maintaining access control during check-in/member health screening.
• Answering member phone calls and in-person transactions.
• Volunteer at two YMCA community events per year.
• Other Clerical duties assigned.

Hours:
Monday-Friday- afternoon, evening and night shift (FLEXIBILITY IS A MUST!!!)
Flexibility to fill in for afternoon, and morning and weekend shifts as needed

Required Experience/Education and Physical Demands:

• 2 years or more of Clerical/Customer Service experience
• At least one year of experience in data entry, cash and phone handling
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bilingual a plus
